Life’s two paths

It spins around in those tricky circles
It takes you to two paths
Which one will you choose?
One is good but leads to hurt feelings
One is bad but leads to fortune
How come the bad leads to good and the good lead to bad?
If that’s the case I would want to take the bad.

The good helps you see the truth in others
Which leads to the hurt feeling
The bad helps you find greed
Which leads to fortune
But the end of the path is different
The end of the good path should lead to eternal fortune
The end of the bad path should lead you to eternal pain
I’d rather take the good over the bad if that’s the case
Life does spin around in those tricky circles

The brown and green eyed fairies

By: leah Fleischhacker (idea from writing magic by: Gail Caron Levine)
I have one green eye and one brown eye. The green eye sees truth but the brown eye sees much more. it sees the good In everyone. It sees into ones soul. It can see you talents and your failier. With it I can tell who or what you Will be in the future. I can help you change that to. You see I am no ordinary girl. I'm a fairy. Everyone has one just some don’t see there is because they don’t want to. My “client”, if you will, is a young farm girl. She lives in a small cottage by the brook. I helped her find her true love, her true talents. I must not tell her anything about her future. My green eye can always tell when she is lying. She hardly ever lies. My brown eye told me she is artistic and that she will marry a handsome artist, but it also told me that he would break her heart from the first year after their marriage. I had to stray her away from this gentlemen and lead her to her true love. that’s not all. When she was six I had to stray her away from the kitchen because my brown eye saw that she would get hungry in the middle of the night and get some cheese, but the knife she used to cut it slipped out of her hands and cut into her foot leaving a bloody wound. That’s what us fairies must do. We appear to be just normal people and try to stray them away from things. our green eye sees the truth in you and the brown sees oh so much more.

The Diamond Necklace

By: Leah Fleischhacker (idea from writing magic by: Gail Carson Levine)
Everything was going normally until I found it. I guess your probably wondering what I'm talking about. well I found this necklace on the bus on the way to school and it had my name on it. it said Emerald Alexandra in very pretty letters. Anyway I asked the driver if he knew who it belonged to and he said no and there was no other Emerald Alexandras he knew. I looked at the necklace again and noticed that it said my last name on the back, Jewls. The necklace looked pretty valuable, it was all pearls and the place where it said my name it was a big diamond. So of course like any other girl it tried it on. Suddenly my body was glowing and i began to transform. My black hair grew green streaks, my pale skin suddenly had a tint of green in it. after the glowing stopped I ran to the bathroom to look in the mirror. I looked and could not believe what I saw. My hair must have grown several inches, my light green eyes were now such a piercing green that it hurt to look at, and my skin looked a little green I mean it looked normal but something about it seemed green. I reached for the necklace to take it off but it would not come off. I tried with all my might. “its not going to come off princess.” said a voice. I spun around and saw no one except for a mouse on the floor. Right now I was too shocked to care. “who said that, and what are you talking about its just a necklace.” I answered. “down here.” Said the mouse. I screamed. “hey chill, I'm not really a mouse I'm just under a spell, and anyway that’s a very special necklace. It holds power beyond your imagination.” “ya OK this whole “power beyond your imagination” thing is a little cliché don’t you think, so please just explain it normally.” I said very confused. I mean here I was a 16 year old girl turning green, and I don’t mean with envy, growing hair, and talking to a mouse. “you are the crowned princess of the fairy world. I was sent to come get you but since I am full fairy they transformed me into a mouse. “wait princess, fairy, full fairy, whats this about?” I asked. The mouse spoke again, “first things first I did not get to properly introduce myself, the name’s Harry.” He said. “of course Harry like Harry Potter.” I said sarcastically. The mouse looked at me confused “no, Harry as in Harry Bodlander, that’s who the Author of the book named me after. I think it was her Great Grandfathers name or something……, anyway when you were 6 and your mother died your father left the fairies in grief. You see he was human but your mother was a fairy and not just any fairy but the Queen of all fairies. Anyway he took you with him and promised that you will never know about your true identity. He took your necklace, which can only be removed by ones parents, and through it away. Luckily it cant be destroyed so your mothers sister, who is our queen until you are old enough, held onto the necklace until the age when the necklace is never removed, which happens to be 16.” That’s when I had this strange flashback; I was 6, I looked like I did now, green skin, green hair streaks, and the most piercing green eyes. I was spread over my mother crying saying “mommy please wake up.” My father was at the door, his arms crossed, he looked so sad. He came over to me and said “Emerald darling, we need to remove your power, we are going to live with grandma and grandpa in the human world, where I am from. Then he took the necklace off my neck. The green in my face disappeared. So did the green tint in my skin. My eyes got lighter like a flashlight turned off. Then I fainted.
A few minutes later I woke up on the cold bathroom floor I saw the mouse and the necklace on my neck. It was then I knew my life would no longer be the same.

The Adolfian batzi

By: leah Fleischhacker (Idea from writing magic by: Gail Carson Levine)(based on the Holocaust)

There once was a bat, his name was Adolfian, he was the rudest meanest bat in the whole world. to make matters worse he hated birds. All the other bats however liked birds. Some were even married to birds and had bards ( a cross breed between a bat and a bird.) one day he joined a club. It was the club who hated birds. They called themselves the batzis. They thought up a plan to get rid of the birds forever and Adolfian was the leader. The Batzis came into town and destroyed the little birds’ nests. They through there eggs too the ground and did all sort of mean things. then they took the birds into their dark caves were they set up places were the birds would work for them and would beat them or even kill them if they did not do it right. They killed so many birds because their plan was to kill them all. Adolfian was very happy. “soon there will be no birds left and us bats will be the rulers of the trees and caves.” He thought. But his thoughts were wrong. You see everyone liked the birds and thought this was terrible so all the animals got together and fought off the Batzis. Adolfian was so upset and knew that one day the animals would get him so he poisoned himself and died. Adolfian never bothered the birds again.
