Her name was Chaya, meaning life.
The Natzis took that away from her.
They killed most of her family
Only her little sister, Miriam, was left.
Gassed, shot, starved, who knows how the rest perished
After the horror and fright she married a young man, Yehuda, meaning Jew.
They took back Chaya's name when they had twins.
They moved to America to put their names to use.
They had more children,
And those children had children,
And even some of those children
And one day i will carry on the name of Jewish life
This is based of my great grandparents who went through the Holocaust. the Natzis tried to take away Chaya's life but in the end she, with Yehuda, made a big, Jewish, Religious family.
